Engineering Technician - Ford BU
Coordinate sample requests, build, traceability, modification, distribution and analysis of test parts.
Aid Engineers with deliverables such as stack-ups, drawing changes, DFMEA, DVP&R, Test Reports, BOM’s, system tests and customer interaction.
Interface with PLM and DVM databases to load and modify documents.
Create test plans, submit requests, and track test progress using DVM.
Sample measurement (inertia, density, mass, gaps, etc).
Aid Engineers with inventory control, purge dates, etc.
Support PTL’s and Engineers with :
· Submitting requests and follow up with testing and testing setup
· Posting test part teardown analysis and documentation
· Warranty part tear down and analysis support
· Supporting closure of 5 phase initiatives
· Loading Data in Ford WERS database
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Engineering Tech activities in automotive industry.
Experience with automotive testing and test requirements.
Experience with test instrumentation, test specifications and data acquisition systems.
Experience in safety restraints testing.
Capable of performing routine computer operations involving Windows based software
Demonstrate basic mechanical skills and tool usage
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Data base skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work with customer engineers
Ability to influence and work with a team
